On March 28, four of our High School sophomores taught 2nd graders at the Hartford Elementary a lesson on heart health. Megan Madsen, Emily Nelson, Megan Shoeneman, and Morgan Schumacher are members of WC HOSA(Health Occupation Students of America). Their membership includes an opportunity to compete with other students across the state in a variety of competitions. They chose a competition called Health Education. West Central is thankful for their participation and we appreciate the lesson that was taught. Highlights include: listening to the heart with stethoscopes, healthy eating tips, and the importance of exercise demonstrated with group jumping jacks! The HOSA members also taught about the anatomy of the heart, and the science behind heart disease. A big thanks to Mrs. Spielmann, Mrs. Graham, Mrs. Munger, and all the students and staff for being so enthusiastic and welcoming!
